Freya Newman
Advisor, The Climate Pledge
Freya is an Advisor of Global Optimism's work on The Climate Pledge.
Freya has been a member of the team building The Climate Pledge since its inception. Prior to joining Global Optimism, Freya interned at UN Climate Change as part of the Loss and Damage team under the Adaptation Programme, working to address loss and damage associated with climate change impacts in developing countries. She previously worked with the Natural Environment Research Council on projects in the Brazilian Amazon and Colombian Andes investigating the response of tropical forests and the terrestrial carbon cycle to climate change.
Freya holds a BSc (Hons) in Physical Geography from the University of Exeter and an MSc by Research in Geography on earth system modelling. Her masters research developed a new formulation for modelling and understanding plant respiration and is published in Nature Communications.
