Michael co-leads Global Optimism’s work on Climate and Health. He joined Global Optimism as Senior Advisor to Groundswell, a strategic communications effort which ran from 2023-2025.
Before that, Michael spent 5 years working for UN Climate Change (UNFCCC), focusing on strategic and digital communications to support the international climate negotiations.
Before joining the UNFCCC, Michael worked for the UN Secretariat’s Department of Global Communications with a focus on raising awareness and support for the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Prior to that, Michael worked for the communications team of the European Commission in Brussels.
Michael holds a joint degree from the University of Aarhus and University of Amsterdam in “Journalism, Media and Globalization“. He lives in his home town in Cologne, Germany.
